THE FAME RIOT
ROCKSTARS IN REAL LIFE, THE FAME RIOT and lovely ladies Favour & Raquel. Photographed at Frisko Freeze and Dorky's Arcade it was a typical crappy day in Seattle. The rain and dreariness worked well for our theme. Crew included Jenny Verador, Theresa Clark and Tracy Madison.
I fell in love with the wild energy of Liz and Shazam Watkins (brothers) after meeting them at a coffee shop. It looked like Goodwill's collection of sequenced old lady clothes threw up on them. But for the Fame Riot, it comes from a genuine place and carries over on stage. They have the innate ability to mesmerize crowds, entertain, and get craaaazy. They move like Jagger, dare I say a younger version of The Rolling Stones. I photographed them several times over the course of about two years, each time wanting to make the next shoot more over the top. You can't help but love their hooptie car, too. We've all been there. They bring out the best in everybody around. Strangely enough, as often as they speak in an English accent they don't really understand it. Funny as hell.
